One of the seven sacred cities of the Hindus, known as Saptapurior Mokshapuri, Ujjain has been a prominent centre of religious activities for over 2,000 years. The township is particularly mentioned in the Atharva Veda, the last of the four Vedas. Damaged sculptures and monasteries have been found scattered around Ujjain, leading to the belief that Buddhism flourished here in the 4th century. In addition to the ruins of antiquity, Ujjain offers information on number of interesting monuments, such as the Jai Singh Observatory, the Choubis Khamba Darwazaand the Kaliyadeh Mahal, apart from the numerous temples in the periphery of the town.
Upon your arrival in Indore, you will meet our representative/driver at the airport or railway station & drive towards Ujjain. Visit The Mahakaleshwar Temple - Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the twelve Jyotirlingams, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. Also visit Badeganeshji Temple , Harsiddhi temple (Shaktipeeth) , Mangalnath Temple, Kalbhairav Temple, Gadkalika Temple, Bhartahari caves, Sidhvat Temple, Ramjanardhan temple. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Maheshwar and visit Devi Ahilya Fort , Rajrjeshwara temple, Kaleshwar temple, Kashivinashwnath Temple & Narmada Ghats, Boating. Return to Maheswar hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel & drive towards Indore. Indore is the capital city of the erstwhile Holkar rulers. It is an important industrial city in central India and is known as 'mini Mumbai'. There are a number of historical monuments in Indore belonging to the Holkars. Visit Rajwada , Kanch Mandir & Indore Museum. Later you will be transferred to Indore airport for your onward journey.
